Eurozone Investor Confidence Rebounds in May
In a surprising turn of events, investor confidence in the euro area witnessed a slight improvement in May, as reported by Sentix on Monday. The confidence index climbed from a negative 19.5 in April to a negative 8.1 in May, signaling a cautious optimism among investors.
Current Situation and Expectations Improve
The current situation index also saw an uplift, moving from negative 23.3 in April to negative 19.3 in May, marking the highest level since August 2024. Meanwhile, the expectations index made a significant leap from negative 15.8 in April to a positive 3.8 in May.
"Following the US tariff shock, the eurozone's situation has surprisingly improved to -19.3 points. Expectations have rebounded strongly, entering positive territory," the report highlighted.
