
French Industrial Production Shows Modest Growth in March
According to INSEE, France's statistical office, the country's industrial production experienced a 0.2% increase in March compared to February. This growth was primarily fueled by a 3.1% rise in transport equipment manufacturing.
Key Sectors Driving the Growth
The automotive sector played a significant role with a 3.3% boost, alongside a notable 9.6% surge in coking and refining. Despite these gains, the report highlighted a 0.6% decline in capital goods manufacturing and a 2% drop in energy production.
Year-over-Year Performance
When compared to the previous year, manufacturing output saw a 1% decrease, while overall industrial production declined by 0.4%.
