March Sees a Significant Reduction in Trade Deficit

According to the latest report from the French External Trade Ministerial Statistical Office (DSECE), the trade deficit in March decreased to €6.25 billion from a revised €7.7 billion in February. This improvement highlights a positive shift in France's trade dynamics.

Exports and Imports Show Varied Growth

Exports witnessed a robust increase of 5.6%, reaching €52.5 billion, whereas imports grew at a slower pace of 2.3%, totaling €58.8 billion. This disparity underscores a stronger export performance contributing to the narrowed deficit.

Energy and Manufactured Goods Balance Insights

The energy balance saw a reduction in deficit by €0.8 billion, landing at negative €4.9 billion. Meanwhile, the manufactured goods balance improved significantly by €2.2 billion, ending at negative €3.1 billion for the month.
