
UK Construction Activity Sees Mild Uptick
In a recent report by S&P Global, the United Kingdom's construction sector experienced a modest recovery in April, with the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) slightly rising from 46.4 in March to 46.6. This marks the slowest rate of decline in three months, offering a glimmer of hope for the industry.
Sector Performance Highlights
Civil engineering remained the sector's weakest link, recording a PMI of 43.1. Meanwhile, residential construction showed a bit more resilience with a PMI of 47.1, and commercial building trailed slightly behind at 45.5.

"April saw continued declines in output levels, albeit at a slower pace, thanks to reduced drops in residential building work and civil engineering activity," noted Tim Moore, Economics Director at S&P Global Market Intelligence.
