UK Construction Activity Sees Modest Uptick
The United Kingdom's construction sector experienced a slight rebound in April, as indicated by the latest report from S&P Global. The construction Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) edged up from 46.4 in March to 46.6 in April, signaling a tentative step towards recovery.

Sector Performance Highlights
Civil engineering remained the sector's weakest link, with a PMI of 43.1. Meanwhile, residential construction showed a slightly better performance at 47.1, and commercial building trailed at 45.5.

"April saw continued declines in output levels, yet the pace of contraction slowed to its most gradual in three months. This deceleration was supported by milder reductions in residential building and civil engineering activities," noted Tim Moore, Economics Director at S&P Global Market Intelligence.
