
Market Overview
The Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange witnessed a remarkable performance as the index closed 19.4 points higher, marking its fourth consecutive session in the green. Trading volumes surged by 11%, reaching VND19.11 trillion (US$736 million), indicating a robust market activity.
Leading Performers
Among the VN30 basket, which includes the 30 largest capped stocks, 28 tickers ended in the positive territory. VIC of private conglomerate Vingroup and GVR of Vietnam Rubber Group led the charge with impressive gains of 6.9% and 6.8%, respectively. Not far behind, PLX of fuel distributor Petrolimex and BCM of Becamex Investment and Industrial Development also posted significant increases of 6.6% and 5.1%.
Foreign Investment Trends
Foreign investors played a pivotal role as net buyers, injecting VND246 billion into the market, with a keen interest in VIC and MBB of lender MB. This influx underscores the growing confidence among international stakeholders in Vietnam's market potential.
Other Indices Performance
The HNX-Index for mid and small caps on the Hanoi Stock Exchange rose by 0.84%, while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market saw a modest increase of 0.06%, reflecting a broad-based market optimism.
