Vicki Zhao's Former Luxury Hong Kong Home Fails to Sell at Auction Despite Significant Price Cut

Luxury Home Fails to Attract Buyers at Auction

The former Hong Kong residence of Chinese actress Vicki Zhao and her ex-husband, Huang Youlong, did not find a buyer at a recent auction, despite a 32% discount from its original price. The property was listed at a reserve price of HK$49 million (US$6.3 million) but remained unsold.

Property Details and History

This spacious flat, spanning 3,494 square feet, is located in The Westminster Terrace luxury residential estate in Tsuen Wan, New Territories. It features four bedrooms and two parking spaces. Zhao and Huang purchased the property in 2012 for HK$72 million and sold it in 2020, though the sale price was not disclosed.

Legal and Financial Troubles

Huang Youlong, a 48-year-old Chinese-born Singaporean businessman, has faced numerous legal issues, including an Interpol red notice and sanctions by Chinese market regulators. Additionally, he is involved in a lawsuit over unpaid rent for a unit at The Westminster Terrace since May 2022.

Zhao's Rise and Fall

Vicki Zhao, also 48, gained fame as the "national goddess" from her role in "My Fair Princess." Known for her investment skills, Forbes once named her the wealthiest working actress in 2015. However, her career and business ventures suffered after a 2018 stock trading ban and a 2021 blacklisting by Chinese authorities.
