The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reported on Thursday that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.1% in April, mirroring March's figures.

Employment Gains Across the Board

April witnessed a significant boost in employment, with 89,000 individuals securing jobs, a notable increase from the 32,200 jobs added in March. Full-time employment saw a rise of 59,500, reaching 10,074,300 people, while part-time employment increased by 29,500 to 4,568,400 people. Despite these gains, the number of unemployed individuals slightly increased by 6,300.

Positive Trends in Labor Market Indicators

Further positive signs were observed in the labor market, with the employment-to-population ratio climbing to 64.4% and the participation rate rising to 67.1%. However, the underemployment rate also saw an uptick, reaching 6%.
