According to a preliminary report released by the Census Bureau on Thursday, retail sales in the United States saw a slight increase of 0.1% in April compared to March, reaching a total of $724.1 billion. Year-over-Year Growth Highlights

When compared to April 2024, sales witnessed a significant 5.2% increase. Notably, motor vehicle and parts dealers led the charge with a 9.4% rise, followed closely by food service and drinking places, which added a robust 7.8% to their sales figures.
