Fed Official Anticipates Single Rate Cut This Year

Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Raphael Bostic highlighted on Friday his expectation for only one interest rate reduction this year, citing ongoing market uncertainties and potential inflation hurdles.

Inflation Pressures and Tariff Impacts

"We may have to push against inflation pressures from tariffs," Bostic remarked, adding that recent improvements in US-China relations have slightly altered his outlook.

Economic Growth Outlook

Despite anticipating a slowdown in economic expansion, Bostic remains optimistic about avoiding a recession, projecting growth to hover between 0.5% and 1% for the year.
