Nissan's Strategic Shift to China for EV Production
In a bold move to redefine its global electric vehicle (EV) strategy, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has announced plans to begin exporting EVs manufactured in China starting in 2026. This initiative targets key markets including Southeast Asia and the Middle East, marking a significant pivot in the company's production and export framework.
Competing on Performance and Price
According to reports from Nikkei Asia, Nissan aims to leverage the competitive advantages of Chinese-made EVs, such as their superior performance and attractive pricing, to carve out a larger share of the international EV market. This strategy is part of a broader organizational overhaul focused on optimizing production efficiency and market responsiveness.
The N7 Midsize Sedan: A Flagship Model
At the heart of Nissan's EV export strategy is the N7 midsize sedan, equipped with advanced AI software.
