Trade Agreement Highlights

President Trump praised Vietnam's commitment to providing preferential market access for U.S. goods, including large-engine automobiles. In return, the U.S. announced significant tariff reductions on many Vietnamese exports, pledging to resolve outstanding trade issues, especially in priority sectors.

Future Cooperation

General Secretary Lam urged the U.S. to recognize Vietnam as a market economy and lift restrictions on high-tech exports. Both leaders explored ways to enhance their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, focusing on economic, trade, and investment cooperation, with an emphasis on science and high technology.

Invitation Extended

Lam invited Trump and his spouse to visit Vietnam, expressing eagerness for another meeting soon. Trump appreciated the invitation and reciprocated the desire for future engagements.
