Special Vouchers for Singapore's Milestone
In celebration of Singapore's 60th anniversary, the government is offering one-off vouchers worth up to US$630 to all adult citizens. This initiative is part of the broader SG60 package designed to honor the contributions of Singaporeans to the nation's development.
Rollout Details
Seniors can claim their vouchers immediately through the scheme's official website, while younger citizens will have access starting July 22. This staggered approach aims to prioritize older citizens and ensure those needing assistance have ample support.
Usage and Validity
Similar to previous CDC vouchers, the SG60 vouchers can be used at participating supermarkets and heartland merchants, with half allocated to each. They are valid until December 31, 2026, offering plenty of time for citizens to utilize them.
A Gift to the Nation
Prime Minister Lawrence Wong emphasized that these vouchers are a token of appreciation for all Singaporeans' roles in the nation's journey. Alongside the vouchers, commemorative postcards featuring iconic Singapore landmarks and a message from the Prime Minister will be distributed.
Additional Celebratory Benefits
The SG60 package also includes a 60% rebate on 2024 personal income tax, special gifts for newborns, and S$100 credits for sports, arts, and heritage activities, making it a comprehensive celebration of Singapore's anniversary.
