India's EV Sales Witness a Remarkable 29% Increase in June
According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers' Association (FADA), electric vehicle (EV) sales in India have experienced a significant surge, reaching 1,80,238 units in June. This marks a 28.6% increase compared to the same period last year, highlighting the growing consumer shift towards sustainable transportation options.

Electric Passenger Vehicles Lead the Charge
The most notable growth was observed in the electric passenger vehicle segment, which saw an astonishing 80% year-on-year increase. Sales jumped from 7,323 units in June 2024 to 13,178 units in June 2025, elevating the segment's share in the overall EV market to 4.4%.
Three-Wheelers and Two-Wheelers Show Strong Growth
Electric three-wheelers also posted a healthy 15.8% growth, with sales climbing to 60,559 units. Meanwhile, electric two-wheelers recorded a 31.7% surge, selling 105,355 units. The commercial vehicle segment wasn't left behind, with a 122.5% year-on-year growth, albeit from a smaller base.
This upward trend underscores the accelerating adoption of electric vehicles across various segments in India.
