Japan's Producer Price Index (PPI) Sees a 2.9% Increase in June

According to the latest report released by the Bank of Japan on Thursday, the Producer Price Index (PPI) in Japan experienced a 2.9% rise in June compared to the same period last year. This figure aligns with market expectations but indicates a slight deceleration from the 3.2% gain observed in May.

Monthly and Export-Import Price Trends

On a monthly basis, the PPI saw a 0.2% decline, mirroring the decrease from the previous month. The report also sheds light on other economic indicators, including a 1.6% year-on-year decline in Japan's export price index and a modest 0.1% increase from May when measured in contractual currency terms. Additionally, import prices witnessed a significant 6.1% drop compared to the previous year, alongside a 1.6% decrease month-on-month.
