Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange Soars: VN30 Index Climbs for Third Consecutive Day

Market Highlights

The index witnessed a significant uptick, closing 13.4 points higher after a 15.1 points rise in the previous session. Trading volume on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange remained steady at VND28.29 trillion (US$1.08 billion).

Top Performers

The VN30 basket, which includes the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 23 tickers in the green. Leading the charge was VJC of budget airline Vietjet with a 5.6% rise, closely followed by HPG of steelmaker Hoa Phat Group, up by 4.7%. Not far behind, VHM of property giant Vinhomes and SSI of brokerage SSI Securities Corporation saw increases of 3% and 2.9%, respectively.

Minor Setbacks

Despite the overall positive trend, two blue chips experienced declines. BVH of insurance company Bao Viet Holdings and TPB of private TPBank both closed with a 1.1% drop.

Foreign Investment Trends

Foreign investors continued their buying spree for the fifth consecutive session, netting VND1.5 trillion, with significant purchases in HPG and FPT of tech giant FPT Corporation.

Broader Market Movements

The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange rose by 0.75%, while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market closed 0.34% higher.
