China's Retail Sales Growth Slows in June
Retail sales in China saw a 4.8% increase year-over-year in June, as reported by the National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday. This growth rate, however, did not meet analysts' expectations and was a noticeable dip from the previous month's 6.4% increase.
Urban vs. Rural Sales Performance
Breaking down the figures, consumer goods sales in urban areas experienced a 5% rise compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, rural areas saw a slightly lower growth rate of 4.9%, highlighting a modest disparity in retail performance across different regions.
