India's Unemployment Rate Steady in June

Youth and Urban Unemployment on the Rise

The 15-29 age group experienced a marginal rise in joblessness to 15.3%, with urban areas seeing a significant jump to 18.8%. Young women in urban regions were particularly affected, with unemployment soaring to 25.8%.

Rural Employment Trends Show Mixed Signals

Rural areas saw a slight increase in unemployment to 13.8%, with a notable decline in female participation in agriculture, dropping to 69.8%. Seasonal factors and shifts to informal work were key influences.

Labor Force Participation Dips

The Labor Force Participation Rate fell to 54.2%, with rural and urban areas showing declines. The Worker Population Ratio also decreased, reflecting seasonal impacts and changing employment patterns.
