June Sees US Producer Prices Unchanged, Signaling Stable Inflation Ahead

US Producer Price Index Holds Steady in June

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the US Producer Price Index (PPI) for final demand remained unchanged in June, with a year-on-year increase of 2.3%.

Goods and Services Show Mixed Trends

Goods prices saw a 0.3% rise, driven by communication equipment and energy products such as gasoline and electric power. In contrast, services experienced a slight 0.1% decline, influenced by significant drops in traveler accommodation prices and reductions in transportation and financial services. Portfolio management prices, however, provided some balance with a 2.2% increase.

Core PPI Also Reflects Stability

The Producer Price Index excluding food, energy, and trade services was flat in June compared to the previous month, marking a 2.5% advancement from the same period in 2024.
