In a promising sign for the economy, retail trade sales in the United States increased by 0.6% in June, reaching a total of $720.1 billion, according to the latest advance report from the Census Bureau. This marks a 3.5% increase compared to the same period last year.

The combined sectors of retail and food services also saw a 0.6% monthly rise, with an annual growth of 3.9%, totaling the same $720.1 billion. Notably, nonstore retailers and food services and drinking places experienced significant annual gains of 4.5% and 6.6%, respectively.
