Meta's Strategic Move for Threads
In a significant development, Meta has announced the appointment of Connor Hayes as the new head of Threads, a move that underscores the company's commitment to the app's growth and innovation. This decision, revealed through an internal memo obtained by Axios, marks a pivotal moment for Threads under Meta's umbrella.

Hayes' Journey with Meta
Connor Hayes, a veteran at Meta with a tenure dating back to 2011, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Having contributed to various product roles across Meta and Instagram, Hayes was instrumental in the creation of Threads' initial version in 2023. His deep understanding of the app's vision and mechanics positions him uniquely to steer Threads towards its next chapter.
A Dedicated Leadership for Threads
The internal memo highlighted the necessity of a dedicated app lead to focus exclusively on Threads' advancement. "Given Threads' maturity, we think we need a dedicated app lead who can focus all of their time on helping Threads move forward," it stated.
