President Lee Sung-hae's Inspection Tour

Lee Sung-hae, President of the National Railroad Public Corporation, conducted an inspection on the 18th at the construction sites of the Gangneung~Jejin rail extension project. The focus was on emergency preparedness and safety management during the concentrated rainfall period.

During the inspection, President Lee emphasized the importance of maintaining a robust emergency response system and ensuring the safety of construction sites amidst continuous rainfall. "With the rainy season persisting, it's crucial to strengthen the emergency response system and maintain order at construction sites to prevent any accidents," Lee stated.

About the Gangneung~Jejin Rail Extension Project

The Gangneung~Jejin rail extension project, with a total investment of 3.4968 trillion won, aims to connect Gangneung to Jejin over a distance of 110.9km. This project will link the east-west axis (Gyeonggang Line, Chuncheon~Sokcho) and the north-south axis (Busan~Ulsan~Pohang~Samcheok), serving as an integrated rail network.
