Incheon Metropolitan City Prepares for a Week-Long International Commemoration

Under the leadership of Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok, Incheon Metropolitan City has officially begun preparations for the 75th Anniversary of the Incheon Landing Operation Commemoration Week. A progress report meeting was held on July 18 at Incheon City Hall, marking the start of a series of events designed to honor this significant historical moment.

The meeting, attended by members of the Pan-Citizen Promotion Committee, aimed to share implementation plans and gather diverse opinions for the upcoming event scheduled from September 12 to 18. Discussions covered the event's direction, main schedule, and featured active Q&A sessions.

Diverse Programs to Celebrate Peace and Sacrifice

This year's commemoration will include a wide range of activities such as a memorial ceremony, reenactment, street parade, Incheon International Peace and Security Forum, and more. Special highlights include the UNI Peace Camp for international students and a patriotic music concert, aiming to promote global peace and remember the sacrifices made.

A National and International Event of Significance

The 75th anniversary is notably the first to implement international events on a five-year cycle and may be the last with participation from war veterans. Co-hosted with government departments, the event seeks to express gratitude to veterans and elevate the commemoration to a national level.

Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok emphasized the event's importance in promoting peace and sacrifice globally, calling for the community's active participation and support.
