In a recent interview with CBS, United States Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick expressed strong optimism about the imminent finalization of a trade agreement with the European Union. Highlighting the positive momentum in negotiations, Lutnick remarked, "The next two weeks are going to be weeks for the record books."

New Tariff Policies Announced

Lutnick also unveiled significant changes to the U.S. trade policy, including a baseline 10% tariff for small countries. Additionally, he announced that the remaining 25% of trade not covered by the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA) would be subject to new tariffs, signaling a major shift in international trade dynamics.
