Singapore Celebrates 60 Years: Adults Eligible for $468 in Anniversary Vouchers to Support Local Businesses

Singapore's Heartfelt Gesture to Its Citizens

In a move to celebrate Singapore's 60th anniversary, the government has introduced SG60 vouchers, allowing adults to claim $468. These vouchers are a token of appreciation for the citizens' contributions to the nation's development over the past six decades.

Wide Acceptance and Validity

The vouchers can be used at over 23,000 local hawkers and merchants, as well as eight major supermarket chains across the country. They are available for online claim and remain valid until the end of 2026.

Overwhelming Response

Since their launch on July 1, more than 915,000 Singaporeans aged 60 and above have claimed their vouchers, representing over 83% of the nation’s senior population. The initiative has already seen over SGD127 million spent.

A Special Memento

Eligible citizens will also receive a unique SG60 postcard, featuring artworks by differently abled artists, along with a personal message from Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

Community Spirit and Caution Against Scams

The initiative has fostered a strong sense of community, with individuals helping others in claiming and spending the vouchers. However, authorities warn against scams, clarifying that no banking details are required for redemption.
