Dr Udai Shanker Awasthi, the managing director of the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), is set to retire on July 31, 2025, after an illustrious career spanning over four decades. Expanding Horizons: IFFCO's Global and Domestic Growth
Under Dr Awasthi's guidance, IFFCO expanded its operations both within India and internationally, establishing partnerships in countries like Senegal, Oman, Jordan, and the UAE. His vision led IFFCO into new sectors, including insurance and crop protection, and launched innovative initiatives like IFFCO Bazar and IFFCO Kisan Suvidha.
Innovating Agriculture: The Nano Technology Revolution
Dr Awasthi was a pioneer in introducing nanotechnology to agriculture, supporting the creation of the Nano-Biotechnology Research Centre and developing products such as Nano Urea Plus and Nano DAP. His efforts have positioned IFFCO as a leader in agricultural innovation.
Accolades and Acknowledgments
Recognized globally for his contributions, Dr Awasthi received the Rochdale Pioneers Award and was honored as the "Fertiliser Man of India." His farewell message expressed gratitude to the IFFCO family and the agricultural community for their support throughout his journey.
