BENGALURU: In a groundbreaking revelation, HCLTech's CEO C Vijayakumar has set a new benchmark in the Indian IT industry by becoming the highest-paid CEO, with a staggering compensation of Rs 94.6 crore for the 2024–25 financial year.

Breaking Down the Compensation: Vijayakumar's earnings included a base pay of Rs 15.8 crore, a performance-linked bonus of Rs 13.9 crore, long-term RSUs worth Rs 56.9 crore, and a bonus of Rs 1.7 crore. This marks a 7.9% increase from the previous year, showcasing the company's confidence in his leadership.

Comparing the Titans of IT

When placed alongside his peers, Vijayakumar's compensation outshines TCS CEO K. Krithivasan's Rs 26.5 crore and Infosys CEO Salil Parekh's Rs 80.6 crore. Wipro's new CEO Srinivas Pallia, with Rs 53.6 crore, is yet to have a year-on-year comparison.

A Leader's Legacy

Under Vijayakumar's stewardship, HCLTech has seen unprecedented growth, with revenue CAGR at 9.3%, the highest among peers. The board has approved his re-appointment until March 31, 2030, and a significant remuneration hike to $18.6 million for the current financial year.
