One post by "China in English" falsely claimed that the Indian government was reviewing US product tariff exemptions under the guise of "No privileges without mutual respect." Another post by "Middle Eastern Affairs" inaccurately stated that India was considering suspending certain bilateral agreements with the US due to hostile economic policies. The MEA has called out these handles for spreading fake news.

These reports emerged following US President Donald Trump's comments about India no longer purchasing oil from Russia. However, Indian government sources clarified that oil refiners continue to buy crude from Russian suppliers, based on economic factors such as price, crude grade, and logistics.
