German Trade Surplus Declines in June

Germany's trade surplus experienced a notable decrease, dropping to €14.9 billion in June from €18.4 billion in May, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office Destatis on Thursday.

Exports and Imports Show Growth

Exports saw a modest increase, totaling €130.5 billion, which marks a 0.8% rise from the previous month and a 2.4% increase compared to June of the previous year. On the other hand, imports surged by 4.2% to €115.6 billion, with a significant 7.9% growth year-over-year.

Trade with EU and Non-EU Countries

In June 2025, Germany's exports to EU Member States reached €73 billion, with imports from these countries at €59.6 billion. Meanwhile, trade with non-EU countries showed exports of €57.5 billion and imports totaling €56 billion.
