Government Vouchers Not for Resale
Singapore has announced the removal of online listings for government-issued vouchers designed to assist with the cost of living, including SG60 vouchers commemorating the nation's 60th year of independence. A CDC spokesperson emphasized that these vouchers are not for resale or exchangeable for cash.
Support During Pandemic
The CDC voucher scheme, launched in 2020, aims to alleviate household expenses and support merchants affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The latest batch, valued at S$500, is valid until December 31, 2025.
SG60 Vouchers Distribution
Starting last month, SG60 vouchers have been distributed, with citizens aged 21 to 59 receiving S$600 and those 60 or older getting S$800. These vouchers are usable until December 31, 2026.
Illegal Listings on Carousell
Listings for these vouchers appeared on Carousell shortly after their release, with sellers attempting to bypass the platform's moderation system. Carousell has stated it uses AI to monitor and remove such listings, urging users to report suspicious activities.
