US Inflation Rate Unchanged in July

The annual inflation rate in the United States remained at 2.7% in July, mirroring June's figures and slightly underperforming against market forecasts, as reported by the Department of Labor Statistics on Tuesday. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) saw a modest increase of 0.2% from the previous month.
Key Components Show Mixed Trends
While the food index remained stable month-over-month, the energy index experienced a decline of 1.1%. Annually, the food index rose by 2.9%, whereas the energy index dropped by 1.6%.
Core CPI Highlights Underlying Inflation
The core CPI, which excludes the volatile food and energy sectors, advanced by 0.3% month-on-month and 3.1% year-on-year, indicating persistent underlying inflation pressures.
