The annual inflation rate in France remained at 1% in July, consistent with the figures from June and the preliminary estimate. This was revealed by the country's statistical office, INSEE, in its final report published on Thursday. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) saw a modest increase of 0.2% compared to the previous month.

Detailed Breakdown of Price Movements

Food prices experienced a 1.6% increase year-on-year, while energy prices saw a significant drop of 7.2%. Services, on the other hand, went up by 2.5%.

The core inflation rate, which excludes volatile items like food and energy, reached 1.5%. Additionally, the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) grew by 0.9% year-on-year and 0.3% month-on-month.
