Russia May Prolong Gasoline Export Restrictions

In a move that could further tighten global fuel supplies, Russian authorities are reportedly planning to extend the current gasoline export ban through September. This decision comes after a high-level meeting on the fuel market, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

The ban, initially set from 30 July to 31 August, was implemented to stabilize domestic fuel prices. It represents an expansion of earlier restrictions that were limited to non-producers. Under the new measures, only humanitarian aid and certain exports under intergovernmental agreements will be permitted.

This extension reflects the government's ongoing efforts to manage the balance between domestic needs and international commitments amid fluctuating market conditions.
