U.S. Dollar Gains Against Vietnamese Dong Amid Global Currency Fluctuations

Dollar Strengthens in Vietnam

Vietcombank reported selling the dollar 0.04% higher at VND26,460, while the State Bank of Vietnam adjusted its reference rate downwards by 0.03% to VND25,240. On the black market, the dollar saw a slight increase of 0.02% to VND26,505.

Global Dollar Weakens

Despite the local uptick, the U.S. dollar faced challenges globally, hitting multi-week lows against major currencies. This trend was attributed to growing expectations for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates soon.

Cryptocurrency and Other Currencies

Bitcoin reached a new peak, fueled by institutional investment and the anticipation of Fed easing. Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar fell 0.7% against the yen, and the euro and sterling showed modest gains against the dollar.

Market Indicators

The U.S. dollar index, reflecting its value against a basket of major currencies, slightly decreased to 97.673, marking a continued decline from previous sessions.
