Eurozone Inflation Unchanged in April
According to a preliminary report by Eurostat, the annual inflation rate in the euro area remained steady at 2.2% in April, mirroring March's figures. The monthly inflation rate was recorded at 0.6%.
Key Contributors to Inflation
Services led the increase in the consumer price index (CPI) with a significant 3.9%, followed by food, alcohol, and tobacco at 3%, and non-energy industrial goods at 0.6%.
Core CPI Insights
The core CPI, which excludes volatile items like energy, food, alcohol, and tobacco, showed a year-on-year increase of 2.7% and a monthly rise of 1%.
Regional Variations
Estonia experienced the highest inflation rate at 4.4%, while France recorded the lowest at 0.8%.
