March Sees France's Trade Deficit Narrow to €6.25 Billion Amid Rising Exports

Trade Deficit Improvement

France's trade deficit showed signs of improvement in March, decreasing to €6.25 billion from a revised €7.7 billion in February, according to the latest report from the External Trade Ministerial Statistical Office (DSECE).

Export and Import Growth

Exports saw a significant monthly increase of 5.6%, reaching €52.5 billion, while imports grew by a modest 2.3% to €58.8 billion, contributing to the narrower trade gap.

Sectoral Performance

The energy balance witnessed a decline to a negative €4.9 billion, down by €0.8 billion, whereas the manufactured goods balance improved markedly by €2.2 billion, standing at a negative €3.1 billion for the month.
