Europe and US Senate to Sanction Russia
French Foreign Minister Barrot announced on Tuesday that Europe, in coordination with the US Senate, is set to impose the most severe sanctions on Russia in the last three years. These measures aim to directly target the resources fueling President Vladimir Putin's war efforts.
Targeted Sanctions
The sanctions will focus on Russia's oil revenues, financial institutions, and intermediaries abroad. Barrot emphasized the urgency of these actions, noting a fivefold increase in strikes on Ukraine, and called for an immediate ceasefire from Russia.
