US Small Business Optimism Sees a Slight Decline in June

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) revealed in its latest report that the Small Business Optimism Index in the United States slightly decreased to 98.6 in June, marking a 0.2 point drop from May.
Key Findings from the Report
Sales Expectations: The net percentage of small business owners anticipating an increase in real sales dropped by 3 points in June, now standing at a net 7%.
Inflation Concerns: The proportion of owners citing inflation as their primary business challenge declined by 3 points from the previous month, reaching 11%.
Uncertainty Index: There was a notable decrease in the Uncertainty Index, which fell by five points to 89 compared to May.

"Small business optimism remained steady in June while uncertainty fell," commented NFIB Chief Economist Bill Dunkelberg. He highlighted that while taxes remain the top concern on Main Street, issues like labor quality and high labor costs continue to weigh heavily on business owners' minds.
