According to the latest report from Italy's National Statistics Institute (Istat), the retail sector experienced a positive shift in June, with sales increasing by 0.6% compared to the previous month. Annually, the growth was marked at 1%, signaling a steady recovery in consumer spending.

Food sales saw a significant monthly increase of 1.4%, while non-food goods remained stable. Year-over-year, food goods surged by 2.8%, contrasting with a slight 0.3% decline in non-food items.
Sector-Wise Performance
The report highlights a notable improvement in large-scale distribution and e-commerce, with increases of 3.4% and 4.1%, respectively. However, small businesses and sales conducted outside stores faced challenges, recording decreases of 1.7% and 1.9%.
