In the week ending August 15, the United States witnessed a marginal increase in its oil rig count, reaching 412, up by one from the previous week. This data, released by Baker Hughes on Friday, also highlights a significant annual decrease of 71 rigs.

Gas Rig and Total Rig Counts

The gas rig count in the U.S. stood at 122, showing a slight weekly decline of one but an annual increase of 24. The total number of rigs across the country remained steady at 539, unchanged from the previous week, yet down by 47 compared to the same period in 2024.

Canadian Rig Count Highlights

Canada's total rig count saw a weekly increase of three, totaling 183. The oil rig count in Canada rose by four to 126, while the gas rig count remained stable at 57, unchanged from the previous week.
